Input and Output Devices of Computer

Hello, everyone!

We'll discuss input and output in computer applications today. First, let me clarify the difference between input and output. Any data and instructions entered into a computer's memory are referred to as input. Keyboards, pointing devices, touch displays, pen input, motion input, voice input, video input, scanners, and reading devices are all examples of input devices. The term "output" refers to data that has been transformed into a usable format. Displays, printers, speakers, headphones, an interactive whiteboard, and a data projector are just a few examples.

A keyboard is a input device that allows users to enter data and instructions into a computer or mobile device by pressing keys. Function keys, toggle keys, navigation keys, keyboard shortcut keys, media control buttons, and internet control buttons are all found on most desktop computer keyboards. For desktops and mobile devices, there are a range of keyboard alternatives. An ergonomic keyboard is designed to reduce the risk of wrist and hand repetitive strain injuries. Ergonomics is the study of how to make a workplace more comfortable, efficient, and safe.

A pointer device is an input device that is a little symbol on the screen that changes location and shape as the user moves it. A mouse, also known as an optical mouse, laser mouse, or touch mouse, is a pointing device that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. A touchpad is a compact, flat, rectangular pointing device with pressure and motion sensitivities. A trackball is a pointing device that has a ball on top or on one side.

Text, images, and video are all visually conveyed on a display as a output device. The resolution, brightness, response time, dot pitch, and contrast ratio of a display determine its quality. A digital signal is used to produce a picture on today's monitors. The monitor should be connected to a DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort connector to display the finest quality images. A digital television (DTV) is often used as a display in the home. The most advanced type of digital television is HDTV. A Smart TV is a high-definition television that can connect to the Internet.

Text and graphics are printed on a physical medium using a printer as output device. Ink jet printers and mobile printers are examples of nonimpact printers that form text and graphics on a piece of paper without actually impacting the paper. An ink-jet printer creates characters and drawings by spraying small drops of liquid ink onto color or black-and-white paper. The amount of pages per minute (ppm) that it can print is how fast it is. A mobile printer is a compact, battery-powered printer that allows users to print from their mobile devices.
